Hymenocallis duvalensis, known from only a small region along the border of Georgia and Florida, naturally occurs in forested floodplains.
This clone is from a collection made by the late Vic Lambou, from the Ochlockonee River of Northern Florida.
(Note: the photos are from the other clone I grow but are nearly identical, just a bit larger.)
Family: Amaryllidaceae (Amaryllis family)
Native range: S. GA (floodplain of the Suwanee River) south to n. FL.
Hardiness: Zones 7B–10B
Soil: Moist to saturated sandy or mucky soils
Exposure: Full sun to partial shade
Growth habit: 16" tall
Propagation: Seed, Division
Garden tips: Dixie Spiderlily works well in naturalistic settings with moist to wet conditions, such as a pond edge restoration. It is easy to transplant and relocate. It is neither salt nor drought tolerant.
