Description
Perennial herb 4 - 10 inches tall, erect, sometimes forming dense colonies on the ground or rarely on tree trunks and branches.

Optimum requirements are a brightly lit but shady spot in well-drained soil that does not dry out excessively.

Does well as a houseplant as long as it isn't overwatered and given well-drained soil. Most failures are due to overwatering.
